Ever more we are disconnecting our mind from our body and vice versa. We became computer freaks and iPhone lovers. Our posture, our eyes, our social skills, our ability to interact, even to find a loving relationship, is leading us to a virtual individualistic society.
We then continue to push this new world forwards, we have been forced by society’s demands that we have to thrive, at times without understanding our individual legacy, our inner self is being shut down and with it we are not integrating or understanding why the body is not an independent part, but is connected to our mind and our mind depends on it.
Mind games, virtual connection, Internet society is up and up. High stress is acceptable as normal in modern society as most people have stressors as part of their current life, but how we are approaching this problem? Are we making measures to lower it? Are we taking responsibility and doing something to improve our lifestyle?
I believe it’s time to disconnect from our mind and give some time back to our body!
Movement is inside of us, the human body was designed to move with a purpose, to keep efficient and healthy. To survive.
We start our journey moving as a foetus in our loving mothers, we were born actually moving, forcing our way into the world. Movement is vital and we should be doing it until the last moment we breath. It’s the only way to reach an optimal health in our mind and in our body.
Every aspect of movement ought to be addressed, in a smart and natural way. We have to keep strong, move with fluidity, keep joints mobile, meditate through movement and feel good.
The human body was designed to move. Even though some people might disagree and believe we can live without exercising. Many health problems are caused by a lack of movement as we have never lived such a sedentary life style before.
Postural misalignments may cause pain, discomfort and tension in the body which will reflect as major stressor in our mind. Any musculoskeletal pain that last over a week will deviate your mind, so it cannot think clearly, strongly, freely or focused. That will depend on the time it will take for it to recover.
This in turn could lead to sadness, lack of self-steem, weakness and depression. This shows how our body in completely linked to our mind and vice versa.
Unfortunately a sedentary lifestyle may be the key that opens the door to a vast range of body dysfunctions. So don’t wait until you have a injury, listen to your body. It is calling you. Exercise with a movement coach that will tailor a individualised programme for you. This will help you to avoid any nasty surprises; most times when you least expect them.
Do it, be at your best always! It will make you happier.
